Payment

We accept payment via PayPal, Visa and MasterCard credit / debit cards only. Do note that you do not need a PayPal account to make payment. Currently, we do not accept cash on delivery.

Your information will be kept strictly private. We will use your information only to process orders and to inform you of special Chef-In-Box offers and discounts. We will not release your personal information to any third party unless you have granted us explicit permission to do so. Refer to our privacy policy for further details.

Order, Shipping & Returns

Once an order is placed and payment is made, no changes, cancellation or adding of new items is allowed.

The available delivery dates will be highlighted in red when you are in the Checkout Page. You can simply click on the chosen delivery date and time to book your slot, and we’ll arrange for the delivery to be made accordingly.

Due to the stringent cold-chain process that we adopt for the manufacturing and delivery of our products, returns and/or exchanges of items once they have been delivered will not be permitted. We strongly recommend that you check through your items upon delivery to ensure that the delivered items are in accordance with your orders.

We currently deliver only to addresses within mainland Singapore excluding Sentosa island.

It depends on where you are. Orders processed here will take 2-3 business days to arrive.

A delivery fee of S$8 is applicable for orders below S$40.00 nett. At this point, we do not deliver to Sentosa Island and Jurong Island.

Delivery (worth S$8) is extended Free-of-Charge for orders above S$40.00 nett.

Note: An additional $3 surcharge is applicable for evening delivery slots (i.e. 7pm to 9pm)

The minimum order for free delivery is $40 NETT. Orders below this amount is subject to a delivery fee of just S$8.

Also note that if no one is at the delivery location to receive the order during the chosen delivery slots, Chef-In-Box reserves the right to charge the Customer a re-delivery fee of S$8 which will need to be paid in cash.

All deliveries will be undertaken by our own fleet of delivery vehicles.

Product

All Chef-In-Box products are prepared and cooked by our master chefs, utilizing advanced cook chill and freeze technology to seal in the freshness and nutrients naturally. They are all manufactured under strict quality and safety standards in our factory which is certified HACCP and ISO 22000.

 

All products delivered to your home shall have its shelf-life within the recommended Use By or Expiry dates as determined for each product

Our products are manufactured in our factory which is Halal certified, and are certified Halal by MUIS.

All our products do not contain added colorings, flavorings or preservatives.

The technology Chef-in-Box adopts is known as the cook-freeze technology.

 

During the entire process of cooking, packing and storage of foods, no extreme temperatures are used in extending the shelf-life of our products. As such, your foods remain nutritious and its texture and taste, intact.

Bacteria multiplies best at room temperature. In our facility, we remove the temperature window in which bacteria multiplies. In layman terms, this means that once food is fully cooked, the food is transferred to our blast-freezer which then rapidly freezes the food items down to -18 degrees Celsius. The food is then packed into portions, and temperature is kept consistent at -18 degrees Celsius.

The blast-freezing technology allows us to do away with any requirements for preservatives to prolong the shelf-life of our products.

Each product has its Nutritional Information listed in its “Product Information Page”. Many of our products are below 500 calories, making it a good option for your meals!

We advise our customers to store our products under proper refrigeration and thaw and reheat them as per re-heating Instructions provided in the packs.

 

Chef-in-Box Heat & Serve meals has a minimum shelf life of 6 months and that for JIAYEN, 12 months upon production. The expiry dates are clearly indicated in the packaging.

We endeavour to deliver in getting our ready-meals to you as fresh as possible. We do not compromise on our storage condition. We abide strictly by the standard of our HAQCCP and ISO 22000:2018 certification as well as to the rules and regulations set by our local Authority, AVA. We adhere strictly to the requirements of the cold chain delivery all the way to your doorstep.
